J.M. Rodgers Co., Inc. is looking for highly motivated Business Development Representatives to join our growing remote/hybrid sales team. In operation since 1952, J.M. Rodgers is a leading family owned and operated Customs House Brokerage and Freight Forwarding Firm, specializing in Duty Drawback.
Position Summary
As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will play a critical role in driving our growth and expanding our client base. This role focuses on identifying, targeting, and nurturing potential business opportunities. BDRs will connect with prospective customers through cold outreach via phone and email, leveraging various software tools to source and manage leads. High-performing individuals will have ample opportunities to grow their careers within our organization.Key Responsibilities
- Craft and execute impactful cold outreach emails.
- Conduct effective cold calls to prospective clients.
- Identify and target leads that align with industry and company goals.
- ]Utilize software platforms to source and organize potential leads.
- Maintain and manage an organized book of business.
- Collaborate with other team members within the sales department.
- Consistently meet and exceed monthly and annual quotas.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s industry, products, and internal philosophy.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with prospects through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
Qualifications
This role focuses on the generation of new business. The individual must appreciate cold calling and utilizing email to generate new business opportunities for the company by utilizing business acumen to establish how J.M. Rodgers could service a potential customer.- 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficiency in utilizing Outlook/Excel/Microsoft Teams/Office 365/HubSpot CRM (Preferable)

Experience with CRM platforms like HubSpot is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to come into the corporate office in Sparta, NJ when necessary
